SPORTS: “Live” coverage of the Chinook High School “Sugarbeeters” and other area High School sports programs. Coverage of sporting events throughout the Big Sky Country of Montana is no easy task. Team travel to great distances, communication logistics, scheduling conflicts and the huge amount of sports activities we broadcast require a well staffed, professional sports department that features four play-by-play announcers. |

WEATHER: Prompt, accurate, local weather reporting is a monumental commitment to our listeners. We constantly monitor a variety of sources including the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We work diligently to keep our listeners current, with the latest climatic changes, disturbances and potential threats from adverse weather conditions. The sheer size of our coverage area creates many challenges to bring accurate, up-to-the-minute weather reports. We have several distinct weather patterns that range in diversity from the Little Rockies and Bea Paw Mountains to the rolling plains north of the Missouri River and south through the Judith Basin. Forecasts are updated immediately and often … several times each hour when necessary! The responsibility of notifying our listeners when weather threatens a flash flood, tornado warning, severe thunderstorm activity or winter blizzard is serious business. That’s why we were chosen to be the primary relay point for the Emergency Alert System in this area and responsible for keeping our listeners and other broadcast facilities informed of catastrophic and life threatening conditions! |

COMMUNITY SERVICE: Creating award winning Community Service isn’t easy. It takes an extraordinary commitment to important local concerns, integrity to strive for a balanced presentation of views and creativity to focus the public spotlight on the issues that matter. All radio is not created equal! It takes a talented team to crystallize radio programming that makes a difference. Public Affairs programs like “Insight” can be each weekday Monday - Friday at 9:35 a.m. and again at 6:35 p.m. Individual Community Calendar items that address the instructional or charitable activities of local organizations are aired each morning and Public Service campaigns designed to educate our listeners on issues of importance rotate throughout the day. |
